Art Works Displayed in DeForest Wing

For the past two weeks, All Saints member Peter Stanton has had  his beautiful paintings on display for us to see and purchase if interested.

We thought a  short biography would be appropriate:

Peter Stanton was born and raised in the town of  Bedford, New York, and graduated from Williams College in 1974 with a BA in History of Art. He concentrated on 15th and 16th century Persian and Indian miniature paintings. Other important classes were design classes required for an art history major, and on exchange at Wellesley College, a course in general techniques in Western painting.

In Burlington, where he has lived since 1977, he  studied under Jeneane Lunn for about 15 years where he  gained an excellence in painting and pastels, and through whom he began to study the impressionists in depth.

Salvation Army Dinner, July 12

Monday, July 12, we will serve dinner to the needy at the burlington Salvation Army on Main Street. We are asking thecongregation to help by providing money to purchase chicken, milk, and pork and beans to feed about 100 pepole. We're also asking for pasta salads with lots of veggies. If you have a specialty, like Marga's "Three Bean Salad", I encourage you to share it. The customers love that type of dish.

We are also looking for five to seven servers for that evening - 4:45 - 7:00 PM. I have "Salads, Desserts,Servers" sign -up sheet on the back of the office door for your convenience. Any questions, call Pat at 862-7884.

For newcomers to our church, serving dinner at the Salvation Army four times a year has been a  long-standing tradition at All Saints. It provides an outstanding opportunity for outreach.
