Day of Pentecost - June 4
Often called the Birthday of the Church
Red is the liturgical color used for the Day of Pentecost, and it symbolizes the flames of fire seen at the time of the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples in Jerusalem.
A fun custom at All Saints is to invite people to wear a little or a lot of something red that morning
Good News! Two of our capital improvement projects are well underway!
New DeForest Kitchen - The narrow kitchenette wall containing the old cabinets and sink have been removed to open up space for the new kitchen. We await dome inspections from the City of S Burlington to soon move into the construction phase of the project. The new cabinets have already arrived.
The new lighting fixtures for the nave are being manufactured by McFadden Lighting of St. Louis and takes approximately twelve weeks. We are eager for installation by Hegeman Electric once the fixtures arrive.
Parking Lot - Making our entrances/exits safer are the most visible improvements being done with heavy equipment. The wider north entrance will accommodate one vehicle entering and another exiting at the same time. The south entrance paving has been removed and will be landscaped, planted with grass and safety signs will be erected. The curbing along the Spear Street edge of the partkig lot will be extended to close off the former south entrance. Crack filling and striping the parking spaces, including six handicapped spaces will be final steps in the project.
